The largest tiger shark was a 24 foot long female. Interesting things have been found inside a tiger shark. Once, nine shoes, dogs, a driver's license, a cow's hoof, the antlers of a deer, medieval armor, and a chicken coop with feathers still in it were found inside the belly of a tiger shark. There is a possible second species of tiger sharks, G. Rayneri.

Food
The tiger shark's main food source is fish. It will also eat stingrays, sea snakes, seals, dolphins, conches, seabirds, lobsters, sea turtles, and a lot of other stuff it can get. You might call it a garbage disposal.

The tiger shark got its name because it has dark stripes like a tiger. It is rarely seen. The tiger shark also has a broad nose. The average female tiger shark is 16 feet long. The average male tiger shark is 12 feet long. The tiger shark can give birth to 10 to 82 pups at a time. At birth, the pups are 20-30 inches (1 foot, 8 inches-2 feet, 6 inches) long.

Habitat
The tiger shark lives all over the world in salt water. It lives in tropical waters. The tiger shark also lives mainly in warm water.
